This picture is taken from the Lodge along the camps connected by porch and walkway. Other camps face the lake singly on the other side of Fish River Lake.

Don't forget to enter the woods with plenty of gas in your vehicle. And tell your relatives or a friend know where you are going.
|
Many visitors overlook the clean, warm, soft water of Fish River Lake. Sandy beach entry and GREAT swimming close to the camp you're in makes for PRIMO water activity.

TELEPHONE SERVICE 207 435-6156
Although the camps do have satellite phone, the function depends on the positioning of the satellite and can be "iffy." That satellite number is 254-381-7088. So, feel free to leave a message. OR send us a note (e-mail) located on the CONTACT page. Also, you are welcome to call for rates for road use and camp rental rates for the various seasons or ... check the internet.

ACTIVE ROADWAYS FOR TRUCKS
Please remember that trucks have the right of way on the woods roads. Your fee paid at the gate allows you to use those (often dangerous) roads. If you see a truck coming in the opposite direction...PLEASE pull over and allow safe passage. Do not crowd the road. Many accidents and flat tires occur because users travel too fast or use the center of the road as "the" place to be safe if a moose or deer comes "'a runnin'." Let's all arrive in one piece.

You DO NOT want to play chicken with this truck. Move over all allow it to pass you.

MOOSE POINT
Arriving at Moose Point often means entering a world of singular uniqueness. Owner John Martin's philosophy encourages a sporting camp mentality; i.e. an experience which provides memories far beyond what most camps provide. Remember...These are vintage camps like entering another era; hardwood floors, odd windows, propane lighting and the proverbial wood stove. Every cabin offers hot and cold running water, a sink, toilet and shower. There are always beds enough to satisfy the needs of the guests (one large cabin even provides 8 twins).
Moose Point Camps operates as an AMERICAN PLAN vacation. When staying at an AP resort, all of the main meals are prepared for you. Moose Point is pleased to have the cooking skills of Ervin and Joyce Ouellete.

WELCOME
to Moose Point Camps' web presence. You will find appropriate info on what Moose Point is all about. We thrive on vacationers and fishermen; we bait bear sites miles into the wilderness in order for our guests to have a successful harvest. We host many repeat guests visiting us for the White Tail Deer harvest. And as usual, we take pride in being able to call moose and provide guides who understand both the bull moose and the cow. And lastly, we will make sure you eat well - VERY WELL.

GENERATORS
Note that many electric items are found in the Lodge kitchen. Moose Point has a powerful generator. It runs from 7AM 'til afternoon and again, to prepare dinner until late evening as necessary. Oh, in the evening, "hanging around" the kitchen seems to be popular. The weekly dinner menu includes a full Thanksgiving turkey dinner; a rib eye steak night; baked-stuffed haddock; maybe a HOME MADE pasta dinner, etc. YOU WILL NOT GO HUNGRY AT OUR CAMPS.
